Eastern Kingbird Finally Arrived
I couldn't remember when Easter Kingbird [Tyrannus tyrannus] will be showing his face in our area. Last week I was passing by the area where they usually are found, and I was surprised how many I saw. Usually I see one, and this time it was between 6-7 of them in different locations. I don't know what is happening but I noticed that there seems to be more birds lately. May be I notice them more too. Well, this time I will be short and sweet. I am hoping to go back and take more photos of the Kingbird before they migrate again. They do remind me hummingbird, as they like to hover above the grass a lot.
Fiscal year end for my business, so I will be buried in the paperwork for couple of weeks probably. No it isn't that much work, but I only have 1-2 hours or less a day for computer work. Enjoy your summer!

It is always wonderful to see the birds come back every season.
ReplyDeleteVery striking Bird indeed nice shot !!
ReplyDeleteNice shot Anna! It appears to be watching you. SO much green in the photo too that it looks like summer has really arrived even in the far north. Do you have your own business, Anna? Or just referring to your workplace as "my business"? Summer is busy here too. Of course work is busy as always, but also all the gardening and other outdoor projects.
ReplyDeleteGreat photograph! I'm looking forward to seeing more like this one. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteAnna: Beautiful capture in the wild, I love the coloring on that bird.
ReplyDeleteThe way you portrayed this little bird in front of the background does justice to, not only mother nature, but your talent as a photographer. Well Done!
ReplyDeleteI wish I would see my bluebirds again.
ReplyDeleteI am sad, but 8 comments at sync, including yours, did not appear. I received email verification, but they aren't at the post. It makes me sad. Some time ago I had also discovered that all the comments from my first year at least, many exchanges with dear friends, have disappeared. I imagine there is nothing I can do about that. But I do hope this will be rectified soon for the current post. I would so appreciate it if you would re-post your comment, you could just copy and paste, you said:
Ruth dear another great post, and what a nice time that is. It is so nice that you follow such a tradition. BTW is that on owl sitting behind your fishing nephew, lol. Anna :)
Superb shot as always of this beautiful bird Anna :) And wishing you to enjoy your summer with Matthew and hubby...
ReplyDeleteThe more birds that sing around us the better. When there is no birds around we have a problem.
ReplyDeleteOh, good luck with your paperwork! The Kingbird is one I've never heard of, so off to Google I go :)
ReplyDeleteLovely! I saw a pileated woodpecker and his mate the other day. Every time I see an unusual bird, I think, "How would Anna photograph it?"
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful bird first, and that's also nice if you see it every year! You got a nice picture there and I hope you will get more!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful green portrait. Really lovely beard.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if there are more birds in our area, but I know I am more aware of the birds we see. Betsy is very interested in photographing 'her' birds, so we both pay more attention.
ReplyDeleteI really like your photograph.
Can see where they got the name for this bird, very majestic looking. Your bird shots are amazing Anna so beautifully composed and with great clarity.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS CAPTURE, ANNA!!! I noticed a lot of robins in my yard this morn. More than I can ever remember seeing at one time.

Lovely shot....When I grow up I want to be as great a photographer as you....lol. Sorry I stayed away so long, it was due to website issues.

Beautiful shot of the bird. The colors are fantastic, especially the white outline on the wings.

Very beautiful photo of the Easter Kingbird, I really enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Only in the past two years have I started noticing the birds. I have hummingbird feeders in my yard and can sit and watch the birds gather all day! Right now there is a Robin pulling a worm from our back lawn and several Yellow Finch in the tree at the edge of the yard. The other day I was visited by a House Sparrow and his mate. We also have Bald Eagles, Osprey, Red Tailed Hawks and huge Ravens. And to think, for years I paid the birds no mind. They are amazing creatures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot Anna! What was the focal length you used?
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I'm back! My photo site is tentatively up at http://jdrbeaudoin.zenfolio.com with a link to my blog. I've only just started it so it's sparse in content but I will be adding more over the next few months. I will have some exciting photographic ventures to add to it. Anyways, just letting you know I'm back :-) Take care.
